CovidSafe Plan

We hope you, your families and work colleagues have all been safe, since the pandemic gained strength in mid-March, and we have all adjusted to the new social distancing and personal hygiene paradigm.

As tenant’s stage their return to work, we are implementing the following activities under our CovidSafe Plan to assist you and your staff. Our priority is to reduce the risk of spreading COVID-19 and to prioritise the health and safety of our employees, our tenants and their clients. We are continually reviewing the situation and making changes where necessary, following announcements made via the Property Council of Australia Guidelines and the Safe Work Australia website

Common Area Cleaning
(Foyers, Toilets, End of Trip)

Prioritise high traffic touchpoint cleaning taking particular note of the scope of the cleaning, the frequency, and the chemicals being used.
We are confident in the current cleaning processes and chemicals, and contact points such as lift buttons and door handles are being thoroughly cleaned daily.
Signage promoting good hand washing practices to help stop the spread of COVID-19 will also be provided for display in bathrooms.

Foyers/Entry Points

Social distancing floor and wall signage,
The responsibility for personal hygiene remains with the individual

Hand Sanitiser Stations

Installed in ground floor foyers, basements and plantrooms (where applicable),
The sanitiser currently used is a liquid consistency. Our supplier has secured a gel consistency sanitiser which will replace the liquid once it has been used,
Signage above each dispenser help promote personal hygiene

QR Codes

Some of our buildings now have visitor registration QR codes at the entry points
QR codes can be scanned with your phone camera, which will open a link to register your details
These registers will assist us with contact tracing to help stop the spread of COVID-19
We will not access or store any information unless we are notified of an active case in the building, or if requested by relevant health authorities (https://kdngroup.com.au/privacypolicy)

Lifts

(Source: https://www.safeworkaustralia.gov.au/covid-19-information-workplaces/industry-information)

Even if workers and others only spend a short amount of time in a lift each day, there is still a risk of exposure to COVID-19 that you must eliminate or minimise so far as reasonably practicable.
There is no requirement to provide 4 square metres of space per person in lifts, however you must still ensure, as far as you reasonably can, that people maintain physical distancing in lifts and lift waiting areas.

Remember, you must consult with workers and their representatives (e.g. health and safety representatives (HSRs)) on health and safety matters relating to COVID-19. This includes consulting workers and their representatives on what control measures to put in place to minimise their risk of exposure to COVID-19 in the workplace, including when using lifts.

You must also consult with the building owner/manager and other employers in the building about the control measures to be implemented to address the risk of COVID-19. You may not be able to implement all of the control measures yourself but must work with others to ensure those measures are put in place.

Active Cases In The Building

In the event that a person working in the building has tested positive to the virus, KDN Group would instigate the following procedures:-

  1. KDN Group is informed of a confirmed COVID-19 case within building from tenant;
  2. KDN Group will advise all tenants of the building to inform them of the COVID-19 case and request that each tenant enact their Business Continuity Plan and advise KDN Group of tenant’s decision regarding the operation of the tenancy.
    1. a. If all building tenants elect to work from home, we will shut down the building for the least amount of time possible determined by each tenant’s BCP. During the building shut down, accessible common areas will be disinfected/fogged by base building cleaners.
      b. Each tenant is responsible for the disinfection of their tenancy.
      c. If one or more tenants elect to stay in their tenancy, we will arrange for common areas to be disinfected after building hours. Tenants will still be required to disinfect their tenancies when possible.
  3. KDN Group will keep tenants informed during the disinfection and will advise of building re-opening.
We encourage our tenants to practice good personal hygiene and keep their staff informed as the situation evolves and more information is released. We also request that tenants contact us if they have any base building concerns.

KDN Group Management Team

KDN Group staff have been informed if they experience any flu like symptoms, such as those indicated by the relevant Health Authorities, that they are to immediately self-isolate, to maintain consistent service delivery. All contractors conducting maintenance are implementing their own Covidsafe Plans which align with ours. Should community transmission increase in the ACT KDN Group will split into 2 teams working both online and from our office. We are here to assist you at all times.
